pit senyor!
pit senyor!
i've been to cebu a couple of times before... the city never stops to enchant me. aside from its proximity to white sand beaches, its well-planned vertical development that is sure is eye candy (lahug is beautiful both day and night), the people are warm, known for their strong faith and devotion.
i've been to cebu a couple of times before... but the trip is always for something else that i never got the chance to witness the sinulog festival. finally, i was able to savor the experience yesterday. it's rather ironic that i have to be so far away from home to have a taste of my own culture and heritage...but i did anyway....in south florida. man, it was A.W.E.S.O.M.E!
pit senyor, which means to call God, were chanted so loudly as the people swayed and danced to give thanks and honor sto. nino. it felt good to be surrounded with pinoys and pinays after six months of being away from home. aside from this experience being so surreal and refreshing, i appreciated my country more. i felt a strong sense of community. and i've never sang "Lupang Hinirang" so proudly until yesterday.
there was also an extra treat apart from the good food served to us. i remember reading somewhere that we can powerfully intend and attract something through our thoughts... prior to attending the sinulog festivity ~ i intended my day to be full of fun and merriment. it did happen. the night before, i was wanting to have my photo taken by a professional photographer, i thought the experience would be glam ~ it did happen...and it was for free! a kind photographer took a picture of my friends and me.
good food! good company! sway to the beat of sound, dance, chant ~ pit senyor! proud to be pinay!
